[edit | edit source]A very popular move in this position. Instead of sacrificing the pawn on 4...b5, a better way is to sacrifice the pawn with 4...d5. If 5. exd5, then after 5...Bd6 Black has got active development with the bishops and White's bishop on c4 is blunted.
If 5. Bxd5, Black can develop his knight with 5...Nf6. This move gains time on White's bishop in a very productive way and also opens up Black's bishop on c8.
