[edit | edit source]4...b5?!
[edit | edit source]Black tries to distract and nullify White's strong bishop on c4 and possibly helps to develop his queen's bishop on c8, but White's bishop on b5 is well-placed, and Black's bishop on c8 doesn't actually gain a good diagonal. This move has been deeply analysed by Kieseritzky, and which sometimes bears his name. It is not considered a sound move by most players today.
