Falkbeer Countergambit
[edit | edit source]3...c6!?
[edit | edit source]An interesting move to sacrifice a pawn for development. Nc3 exf4 Nf3 Bd6 is equal. The greedy dxc6?! is bad, as Black has superior development while White's kingside is weak. Bc5 ideas prevent castling kingside unless White diverts the bishop from the diagonal.
Qe2 cxd5 fxe5 Nc6 Nf3 Bg4 leads to equality.
