Open Sicilian with 2...Nc6

[edit | edit source]

Moves: 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3.d4

The Open Sicilian is a very popular opening. There is a great deal of theory on the opening and it is also typically very tactical.[1] For these two reasons some people who do not play the Sicilian will avoid playing the Open Sicilian to encourage slower maneuvering instead of sharp tactics.
