Closed Sicilian: Fianchetto Variation
[edit | edit source]White's plan is to play Bg2, Nge2, d3 and O-O. Sometimes White will also try to attack with an early f4, which may procede similarly to the Grand Prix Attack. Black will try to counter that with an break in the center of the board.
