Alekhine Defense: O'Sullivan Gambit
[edit | edit source]6. Nc3? does not save the bishop, because Black can capture with their knight. Furthermore, 6. c3? may appear to work because after Black captures the bishop, White can recapture the knight, but 7...Bb7! skewers White's g-pawn and wins the trapped rook. Thus, White's best move is 6. Nd2, conceding their bishop.
