1...e5 · Reversed Nimzowitsch
[edit | edit source]This position resembles a Nimzowitsch defence, 1. e4 Nc6, but colours reversed and it's White to move. Given White has an extra tempo compared to Black in the Nimzowitsch, this should be very playable.
2. d4 exd4 3. Qxd4 plays this most like a Nimzowitsch. Because Black hasn't played ...d5 yet (contrast 1. e4 Nc6 2. d4 d5 3. exd5 Qxd5, where White's d-pawn is hanging) they can reply 3...Nc6 immediately.
2. e4 transposes into the Vienna game.
2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 is the Napoleon attack, something like the Scotch game.
